IIDO traffic barriers for use in areas where there is a need to separate pedestrian traffic from “cars and trucks” traffic. These barriers are NOT DESIGNED to take impact to protect pedestrians, purely separation.
Asafe provides some physical protection for pedestrian on top of separating them (hence price is higher because of stronger materials), in contrast to IIDO is good for separating pedestrian from vehicular traffic, but the safety is offered in a way to deter pedestrians from walking into the paths of vehicular traffic.
IIDO and the likes of ALL barriers we all see on the roads, they cannot take vehicular impact, especially if the vehicle is like a fully loaded 40ft container going at 70km/hr. Their use is really to just keep pedestrians from Jay Walking and to give a visual separation for DRIVERS for 2 sides of the road. Many more roads are not even with barriers, just an island (no protection), for pedestrian to stand on while crossing a 2-way traffic road.
